Welcome everyone to my blog! My name is Emily Wilson and I'm headed out to serve the Lord for 18 months in the Texas Houston East Mission (THE Mission). Texas here I come!
My Mom and Dad (and sisters) will be posting highlights from my weekly emails. Hopefully this should be updated regularly with all my crazy fun adventures down in Texas and Louisiana.
And.. guess what....after three long months of waiting... I'm headed to the Provo MTC at 2:15 p.m. today!
It's been a roller coaster of a ride, but I trust the Lord 100% and am so excited to see what He has in store for me and the people in THE mission for the next 18 months! :)
The church is true, the book is blue! :)
I just want to leave you with my testimony. I know this work is true. I've felt the power of His word through the Book of Mormon. IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer- my best friend. I have come to know Him through prayer, scripture study, and through the Christ-like examples of others. And you can come to know Him too! He loves you. He has suffered for all of our sins so we don't have to. Heavenly Father loves us deeply- enough to send His only begotten Son for us. And Christ LIVES. He is not as far away as you may think. His love for us is also why He has restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know the Priesthood of God has been restored through Him and that we have a living prophet on the earth today who leads and guides us.
We can all find that "secret" to happiness that we so desperately need. And it's not really a secret at all. That's why we missionaries are sent to proclaim the gospel "from the roof tops" to all those who will hear. This is the way to happiness. Happiness unlike anything you've ever known before in this life and happiness throughout the eternities.
Things will be hard. People may reject this message. But as a representative of Christ, I will continually strive to serve Him not only for the next 18 months but for the rest of my life. The hard times will come, but the good times will far outweigh the bad.
Stay strong. Stay true. The Lord loves you.
Be ready Texas, because HERE I COME! :)
